Returning to Sunday Rides

August 27, 2006

Five of us were out for todays ride of fifty miles around and about Leith hill. My right pedal developed an annoying and expensive feeling clicking about halfway round leading me to speculate all sorts of potential failures, none of which would be cheap. On returning home I decided to remove the pedal and swap it with one of another bike to see if the problem was the pedal or the bottom bracket. When I went to remove the pedal it seem too easy to remove so instead I tightened it just to be sure and sure enough all is now well. (I Should have thought about what had recently changed. The pedals were removed for the journey home from France and so had only done 120 miles since I returned.)
