What I read on Holiday

September 2, 2005

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling. I read this out loud to my son which covered most of the first two weeks of my holiday. It’s a Harry Potter book, easy to read, entertaining. Even though I was told who died halfway through by accident. Clearly the whole family are now waiting for the last instalment.

Spin by Martin Sixsmith. I great novel looking at the way governments spin the news to us all. Made even more topical today by Tony announcing that the government wants to get involved in parenting. A good read.

Pompeii by Robert Harris. A cracking read, despite there being a bit of a clue in the title as to what was going to happen. I’m left wanting to know how much was true especially the bits about the aqueducts.

Billy By Pamela Stephenson. A biography of Billy Connolly. If you like Billy Connolly, and I do, this is a must read book.
