Another reason to not cycle on the pavement

July 22, 2005

On the way home tonight I approached a T junction with a queue of cars to turn right. The last car in the queu wanted to turn left and there was no room for him to get through. No problem for this car, bump up the pavement and accelerate hard the 20 yards to the T junction, then lock up the tyres and try and stop before you hit the cyclist who has just come round the corner on the pavement.

They stopped face to face like two Zax.

For some strange reason I think the Car driver was more in the wrong than the cyclist.
