Sunday Ride

July 17, 2005

Six left out via Byfleet and Pyrford and back to Ripley. Then over Coombe Bottom to Shere where we had to buy a “Get Well” card for one of our number who fell off dong the L’Etape breaking his collar bone in three places. Ouch. He still went on to finish, with a good time, 07h 52′ 15″, despite his injuries and a badly damaged bike! I’m impressed.

For those concerned about this, his bike is being taken to the shop to get repaired this afternoon, so with luck he will be out again soon. (For the non cyclists: I’m sure he will recover as well).

Then went over the hill to Albury where two turned back, leaving just four of us for the trip around the Surrey hills and back again to Shere and the Cafe.

Then back over Coombe Bottom and home. Nice ride 53.5miles, 16.8mph average, 45mph max (not sure when).
